I had been searching for months for the perfect emerald stone for my engagement ring and spoke with many dealers both in Sydney and overseas before I finally came across Mauro at Colonial Gemstones.

The moment I saw my Muzo Colombian emerald, I knew my search was over. Mauro was patient, genuine and very easy to communicate with throughout the whole process, which made such a difference when making an important purchase like this.

Mauro was exceptional in going above and beyond to fix an emerald that had been chipped, and also reconditioning the stone so it was better than before. I recently bought a beautiful emerald gemstone from Colonial Emeralds, initially Mauro had sent me a gemstone through post but when I physically saw it I wasn't entirely happy but Mauro was kind enough to take it back and sent me a different gemstone. He made sure that I was completely happy it. Mauro also provided a certificate of authenticity, assuring me of its natural origin, packaging was secure. Mauro was awesome from the beginning till the end of the whole process. He even sped things up to make sure I could get everything in time before I needed to leave the country.

Excellent experience. I really enjoyed selecting the stones and working with Mauro to achieve the desired design. The process is nice and quick from describing the design, to receiving the sketch, making minor tweaks and then making the ring.
The photo does not do the ring justice! In real life it sparkles and the deep green emeralds are nice and clear.
Thoroughly recommend!

I purchased emeralds from Colonial Gemstones to make a pair of earrings for my wife. Mauro, the owner was extremely approachable, generous with his knowledge. He was professional, direct and provided excellent customer service. I also needed his help to introduce me to a jewellery maker who can carry out my design. Mauro gave me very practical design suggestions and facilitated the transformation of the stones into stunning jewellery. I am an international client from Toronto Canada. Long distance business has it distinct challenges. However Mauro provided prompt communication. He gave me prompt updates throughout the whole design and making process.
